Boston (dbTechno) – The same day that Microsoft received a rejection from Yahoo for a takeover deal, they have managed to agree to acquire Danger Inc. Danger Inc. is the maker of the technology behind the highly popular T-Mobile Sidekick phone.
Microsoft did not release any type of financial details but this move puts Microsoft in a great place to expand its offerings on the mobile phone front.
Robbie Bach, president of entertainment and devices for Microsoft, stated “The addition of Danger serves as a perfect complement to our existing software and services, and also strengthens our dedication to improving mobile experiences centered around individuals and what they like.”
Microsoft stated that Danger’s “young and enthusiastic, Internet-savvy and socially inclined” user base would greatly help them in the mobile market.
There is no word on how this will directly impact the future of the Sidekick brand as of yet.
