Starbucks Drops T-Mobile, Goes With AT&T For Wi-Fi

Boston (dbTechno) – Starbucks has revealed that they have dropped their exclusive deal with T-Mobile in favor of a deal with AT&T to provide in-store Wi-Fi for consumers.

Under the new deal, Starbucks now joins with AT&T. This is no real surprise to anybody as Apple and AT&T have been partners for awhile with the iPhone, and Starbucks already partnered with Apple for free iPhone acces to the iTunes Store.

Starbucks Card holders will be allowed two free hours of access each day on the Wi-Fi network inside of Starbucks.

Those AT&T DSL customers out there will get free access, along with all Starbucks employees.

If you want to sign up to use the Starbucks Wi-Fi network you can for $4 per two hours, or $20 per month.

T-Mobile hotspot customers will also get free access thanks to an agreement set up between T-Mobile and AT&T.

T-Mobile’s hotspot network just got a lot smaller as the move by Starbucks drops 7,000 locations from the T-Mobile network, leaving them with 2,000.
