DS Tops Wii, PSP In Japanese Sales Chart

Boston (dbTechno) – According to the latest hardware sales figures being released from Japan, the Nintendo DS has managed to take the top spot yet again, beating out the Sony PSP as well as the Nintendo Wii and PS3. The PS2 once again outsold the Xbox 360, at a ratio of around 8 to 1.

The Japanese hardware sales charts have been released for the period March 17 to March 23.

The results show that the Nintendo DS took the top spot, following by the Wii and PSP who were in a close second and third.

Once you get past those systems though you see a significant drop-off in sales. The full numbers are below.

Nintendo DS Lite – 62,404
Sony PSP – 59,883
Sony PS3 – 12,874
Sony PS2 – 9,990
Xbox 360 – 1,407
