HP Introduces Low-Cost Mini-Notebook For Students

Hewlett-Packard announced a new low-priced mini-notebook PC aimed at students and business people on the go. The mini-notebook, the HP2133 Mini-Note, is priced at $499.

The $499 HP 2133 Mini-Note will ship in its base model with the SUSE Linux operating system.

It will also feature a 1.2 GHz VIA C7 processor, as well as an 8.9-inch WXGA screen, 802.11 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The mini-notebook will be very strong in terms of being to withstand a beating.

It has an aluminum shell as well as a scratch resistant screen.

A coating is also going to be placed on the keys for added protection.

It will weigh in at only around 2.5 pounds.

An upgraded version at $599 will ship with Windows Vista Business, as well as 2 GB of RAM and a larger 6-cell battery.

The mini-notebook will retail for $499 and is expected to launch this month.
