NASA Awards Moon Spacesuit Contract To Oceaneering

NASA has awarded the contract to make next generation spacesuits to go to the Moon to Oceaneering International Inc..Boston (dbTechno) – NASA has awarded the contract to make next generation spacesuits to go to the Moon to Oceaneering International Inc.

The company is best known for its products used by the oil and gas industry, as well as services used in deep ocean waters.

The companies is based in Houston, Texas and beat out the competition including Exploration Systems & Technology.

Mark Gittleman, VP and GM of Oceaneering Space Systems stated “Our team is excited about this tremendous opportunity to assist NASA in pushing the boundaries of space exploration.”

The new spacesuit is called EVA or Extra Vehicular Activity.

It will protect astronauts during trips to the International Space Station, the Moon, etc.

The contract is worth $745 million and calls for 109 suits in total.
