Washington (dbTechno) – Hundreds lined up last Friday to greet the launch of the Apple iPhone in Japan. Many fans made it to stores in Tokyo to take in the debut of the Apple smartphone, and things appear to be going smoothly.
The only carrier to offer the iPhone in Japan to this point is Japan’s No. 3 mobile phone carrier, Softbank Corp.
More than 1,000 people were on hand at Softbank’s flagship store in Tokyo’s Omotesando district.
Many were camped outside at the front of the store days before the actual launch.
Once the line reached 1,500 people, the store was forced to begin turning people away due to limited supply.
