The idea behind the new move is to put forth a more organized set of applications for Facebook users.

The announcement came at an annual developer conference held in San Francisco.

The plan for Facebook is to begin to verify applications to allow developers to be able to have more access to Facebook features in how they develop and use things on the site.

Zuckerberg has plans in place to allow developers to reach out to the Facebook users, with a service called Facebook Connect.

Facebook Connect is going to allow for users to use their login names and passwords on other sites such as Digg.

On top of that, Facebook is also going to allow for applications to apply for verified status. If accepted, the developers will have more access to tools of the site.

The whole idea is to put forth a more open Facebook, with improved applications for users.
