Washington (dbTechno) – Veteran Microsoft executive Kevin Johnson is heading for the exit, as he will be leaving Microsoft to head up a new company.
Kevin Johnson was a key person who was heading up the push by Microsoft when they were trying to by the search engine company Yahoo Inc.
His push failed though, as Microsoft did not actually make the purchase of Yahoo Inc. in the end.
Kevin Johnson will be stepping down as president of Microsoft’s platforms and services division where he runs online service business, as well as Windows software for personal computers.
He will leave Microsoft to go and run network services provider Juniper Networks Inc.
Microsoft will be splitting the division run by Johnson into two groups from this point forward, both under Steve Ballmer.
