Seven New Mobile Phones Set To Work On LiMo Platform

Washington (dbTechno) – The LiMo software platform has received quite a boost, as seven new mobile phones have been released by Motorola, NEC, and Panasonic, all running on the platform.

LiMo stands for Linux for Mobile, and continues to grow in popularity as a smart choice for mobile phone manufacturers looking for a platform to run their device off of.

Ever since the launch of the LiMo Foundation, the platform has managed to now have 21 available mobile phone models, and continues to grow.

All seven of the new mobile phones will be released immediately in Europe and Japan, and fully take advantage of the LiMo set-up.

Such things featured include high-resolution displays, mobile TV, video streaming, GPS, etc.

The LiMo Foundation now has 52 partners, with the latest to join up being Telecom Italia, SK Innoace, MIZI Research, and others.

This comes as many expect the LiMo 2.0 version to be released in the coming months.
