Apple To Earn $360 Million A Year From iPhone App Store

Boston (dbTechno) – Apple CEO Steve Jobs has come out with some facts about the progress of the iPhone and the App Store, one month after launch. He has stated that to date, 60 million programs have been downloaded for the iPhone, or iPod Touch off of the store.

Thus far, Apple is doing very well with the App Store, as the revenue coming in is at $30 million, with 70% going to the developers.

The belief is that at this pace, Apple will be able to earn $360 million each year from the App Store, which is only expected to grow over time.

Developers, in the first month alone, have made over $20 million from the App Store.

Some of the best sellers included Sega’s Super Monkey Ball, which sold 300,000 copies at $9.99 each.

Just three days after launch, Apple reported 10 million apps downloaded off the App Store. This trend has clearly continued, as sales continue to grow and grow each and every day.

The revenue is great news for Apple, as it shows that iPhone owners are not just buying free apps from the App Store.
