NHL 2K9 Scores Gold, Can It Beat EA’s NHL 09?

Boston (dbTechno) – 2K Sports has already announced that popular hockey game NHL 2k9 has already gone gold and will be coming to all three current generation consoles (Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii) as well as the Playstation 2.

NHL 2K9 will have revamped controls, upgraded fighting, an extended superstar mode, and six-vs.-one online capacity, NHL 2K9 looks to win out over EA’s NHL 09.

On 2Ks side is the fact that NHL 2k9 is the first, and only so far, licensed NHL and NHLPA video game for the Nintendo Wii system and utilize the Wii remote as a hockey stick – giving them a definite upper hand on that console.

A free demo is currently available on the Xbox 360 Marketplace and the Playstation 3 Network and put the player right in the middle of last season’s Stanley Cup Final between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings. The player can choose which side to play on as they learn the new controls in a three minute period at Joe Louis Arena.
