The company anticipates that net income will increase to almost $3.8 billion by the end of their fiscal year, March 31.

Having already beaten out Microsoft’s Xbox 360, Nintendo sees a lot of promise ahead.  It is expected that the Wii will sell about 186 million units, while the DS will sell around 30.5 million.

On the other hand, Sony forecasts sales of 10 million Playstation 3 consoles and 15 million Playstation Portables.

Since 2002, when Satoru Iwata took over as president of Nintendo Co. from Hiroshi Yamauchi, the stock of the company has tripled and is now valued around $67 billion due largely to the Wii outselling the Xbox 360 and PS3 since it hit the market.
