Washington (dbTechno) – The latest Microsoft ad featuring Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld continue to try to sell us, the consumers, on the Windows Vista operating platform.
Microsoft launched this $300 million ad campaign, with the goal to increase sales of Windows Vista, and to make consumers want to upgrade to the new OS.
The first ad released not too long ago, and was not received well by any means.
The majority of the public who saw the ad stated that it was not funny, and also did not really get to the point.
The point of these commercials was not only to promote Vista, but to also take shots at Apple and their “Mac Guy” campaign.
The latest Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld commercial is far more successful at accomplishing the goal.
The two are shown living with an average family, and connecting with regular people.
It comes across as a 4-minute sitcom almost, but unfortunately doesn’t really get to the point of trying to sell everyone on Vista all that much.
It is a big improvement over the first ad, but many are unsure as to whether or not they accomplished raisinig awareness of Vista with it.
