Tesla Motors To Open Electric Car Plant In San Jose

San Jose (dbTechno) – Tesla Motors, the popular electric car company, has announced that they plan to open up a new manufacturing plant in San Jose, California.

Tesla Motors is best known for producing the high-end Roadster sports cars.

This new San Jose, California plant though is going to be a bit of a change of pace for the company.

They are going to be working on a brand new model which will be more for the mass market.

The construction of the new manufacturing plant is going to begin in the middle of 2009.

They plan to have the first Model S, their new $60,000 sedan, ready to go by late 2010.

Tesla Motors is planning a $250 million initial public offering on stock markets, with capital going to the plant in San Jose, and the new Model S.

They hope to be able to manufacture between 15,000 and 30,000 cars each year at the f actory.
