Game Party 2
Wii Review
Publisher: Midway Games
Developer: Midway Games
Players: 1-4
Midway Games has released a new compilation of games on the Nintendo Wii in the form of Game Party 2. With plenty of games here, is this a must- buy for Wii Sports fans, or something you should avoid?
Game Party 2 has released on the Nintendo Wii and features 11 games in all which are actually pretty fun once you get into them.
Some of the games, I have to admit, are not all that fun on this compilation. The first one that comes to mind is Skill-ball, as th egame just does not seem to work due to the fact that the controls are very unpredictable.
There are plenty of other games on here though which include Bean Bag Toss, Horseshoes, and others.
Some of the other games include Lawn Darts, Puck Bowling, Darts, and Hoop Shot.
The game thing about Game Party 2 is that the game has a four-player mode which allows a group of people to really get into the action and have a good time.
Midway Games definitely went for the mass market and casual gamers out there with this release, as th egame can come across pretty easy in many instances.
There was never the feeling that I was truly overwhelmed by the game when I sat down to play it. There is a lot of fun to be had though with the new customizable characters, as well as tournament play.
I would consider Game Party 2 to be more like an improved version of Wii Play, as there are some great new additions to this release, some quality games to play, and some fun to be had when the whole family or friends are together.
With the holidays coming up, it is always good to have a game that everyone can join in on no matter what skill they are in regards to gaming.
Game Party 2 fills this slot nicely at a very reasonable price point of $30. If you are looking for a new nice compilation of games for the Nintendo Wii, Midway delivers here. Worth checking out for fans of Wii Play and Wii Sports.
Graphics: 7.0 The graphics are nothing that will impress. Simple, but they work.
Audio: 6.0 The audio aspect is disappointing here as it does little to set a party atmosphere.
Gameplay: 6.5 Out of the 11 games on the disc, I would say 7 or 8 are really fun to play, which is good considering some other compilations out there.
Replay Value: 7.0 Game Party 2 has a lot of replay value if you play the Wii with friends or family. Not recommended for gamers playing alone.
Final Score: 6.8
