TouchMaster 2
DS Review
Publisher: Midway
Developer: PhoenixSoft
Players: 1-2
Midway has put out another collection of casual games for Nintendo DS owners in the form of TouchMaster 2, and it is definitely a step up from the original.
Midway has done a good job to this point on both the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo Wii in trying to garner attention from casual gamers.
Last year, they released TouchMaster, a collection of games which users could play on their DS. They have now come back with a sequel, hoping to build on the success of the original.
The sequel comes from the same developer who did the original, and is far superior in every single way.
You get a total of 20 games in the package here which range across many genres as these mini-games are a blast to play.
Not only are they fun, but they also support multi-player as you can battle it out with a friend on just one single cartridge, a huge bonus!
Some of the games included here are quite addictive, with a couple of examples being Spellwinder, Scavenger, Triples, and others.
You get a variety of games from card games, to more classic type games which you would expect here.
A lot of TouchMaster 2 revolves around trying to draw certain things on the touch-screen. I guarantee you will definitely get addicted to one or two of these.
TouchMaster 2 is a lot of fun and is a nice addition for casual gamers on the Nintendo DS. Worth checking out if you love those mini-games.
Graphics: 6.5 The visuals are respectable, but nothing all that impressive. Better colors could have improved things.
Audio: 6.5 The soundtrack is very bland to say the least.
Gameplay: 7.5 Some of the games are very addictive, some not so much.
Replay Value: 8.0 The single-cart multi-player, trophy system, and variety of games are huge bonuses!
Final Score: 7.5
