Microsoft Reports 28 Million Xbox 360 Consoles Now Sold

Washington (dbTechno) – Microsoft has come out and confirmed that they have managed to sell 28 million Xbox 360 consoles through the end of the year 2008.

Microsoft continues to go up against both the Nintendo Wii as well as the Sony PS3 with their video game console, and is performing very well.

The Xbox 360, according to Microsoft, had its biggest year yet in 2008.

Sales of video game consoles as well as software was up this holiday season once again compared to a year ago as the Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 led the way.

Microsoft continues to extend their lead over their next-gen rival Sony as the PlayStation 3 trails by over 7 million units now.

Microsoft believes that dropping the price of the Xbox 360 down to $199 made it have more mass market appeal.
