Washington (dbTechno) – It is expected that U.S. mobile phone networks will be tested today as their networks will likely reach capacity in Washington D.C. due to the presidential inauguration of Barack Obama.
The Barack Obama inauguration is being set up as one of the biggest moments in the history of the U.S., with hundreds of thousands ready to flood Washington D.C.
Cell phones are expected to be in heavy use at the event as people try to make calls, send text messages, picture messages, etc.
With all of this activity going on, it is believed that mobile networks in Washington D.C. are going to be pushed to their limit.
In order to be able to try and combat this, CTIA is going to be sending out trucks known as Cells on Wheels (CoWs) and other types of things to expand the capacity.
The crowd in Washington D.C. could reach over one million people when it is all said and done, and we will likely know by the end of the day just how much stress these mobilie networks can handle.
