Washington (dbTechno) – One little bolt is causing some major problems up in space, delaying the repair process of the Hubble telescope.
Astronauts worked on Sunday to carry out a spacewalk aimed at finishing up repairs on the Hubble telescope.
One of the final orders of business was to carry out the installation of a new protective thermal insulation panel on the telescope.
Astronauts were not able to finish this up though as they ran into a problem with a warped bolt.
This did not stop them from doing other work on the Hubble space telescope though.
The spacewalk Sunday was a long one, with it going for over 8-hours.
It was carried out by astronauts Mike Massimino and Mike Good.
NASA has stated that in one last spacewalk today, they hope to get the installation completed.
All of this comes with the goal of improving the Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph, allowing the Hubble to go on for another 10 years functioning properly.
