Amazon Will Replace Deleted Kindle Reader Books

It is being reported that Amazon has issued a public apology for deleting books from its Kindle Reader
Boston (DbTechNo) – It is being reported that Amazon has issued a public apology for deleting books from its Kindle Reader.

Back in July Amazon took steps to delete George Orwell novels “1984″ and “Animal Farm” without informing consumers who had already purchased the books to read.

The company says that the books in question were added to the Kindle library by an “outside party” who did not have rights to the books.

Many were very upset with the move by Amazon to delete the books, and the general concensus was that nobody knew that Amazon had the right to dabble with people’s devices after a purchase had been made.

One school student is even suing the company after losing one of the books from his Kindle, citing that he needed it for a school project, paid for it and should be entitled to it.

A mass email went out on Thursday to all Kindle owners who were effected by the bonehead move, apologizing for the incident and offering to replace the books for no charge.

Those Kindle owners who do not want the books put back on their devices, can opt for $30 in cash or a $30 Amazon gift certificate.
