
Boston (DbTechNo) – It is being reported that scientists have discovered a massive new ring around the planet of Saturn.
They did so through the lens of the Spitzer Space Telescope, an infrared instrument.
The ring, never before identified is said to be approximately 8 million miles from the planet, circling its radius.
The ring is so big, that according to a spokeswoman for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory it could hold more than 1 billion earths!
Saturn was originally known to have 7 main rings, now it will be known to have 8.
The scientists published their intriguing finding in the journal Nature.
