Boston (DbTechNo) – Computer maker dell maybe entering into the mobile phone market, teaming up with Google to use their Android Operating system.
Rumors state that the company is planning on launching their first smartphone, in an attempt to bring more exposure to the company.
The phone would come with the standard smartphone features, including a camera and touch screen.
Back in 2007, Dell hired Motorola cell-phone division executive Ron Garriques, to head their own consumer technology group which is more evidence of a possible smartphone on the way.
The phone would operate on AT&T’s airwaves, and could be available as early 2010.
Dell will be competing with some major hitters in the smartphone arena, leading many analysts to actually wonder if it is worth their time to role out a smartphone.
Apple and Research in Motion dominate the world when it comes to smartphone sales, but Dell is the world’s second leading computer manufacturer.
