Boston (DbTechNo) – Research in Motion have just announced the Blackberry Storm 2 is soon to be released, a smartphone to rival Apple and their iPhone.
The Storm is a touchscreen smartphone that can do just about anything that the iPhone can do, and comes with faster typing capabilities and allows for users to type on multiple parts of the screen at the same time.
Like many smartphones, the Blackberry Storm 2 has been enabled for next-generation networks and comes with Wi-Fi capability.
This new model is the exact same size as its previous version, but actually weighs .01 of an ounce more.
Currently for Verizon customers, the phone costs $200 with a 2-year contract.
“We have a really rich (product) road map … and we aren’t slowing down,” said RIM co-Chief Executive Jim Balsillie.
