Boston (DbTechNo) – It is being reported that Amazon have just released Kindle software for PCs.
Amazon already dominate the portable reader market, but continue to find ways of pushing boundaries to separate themselves from the competition.
The Kindle software is available for computers running XP, Vista and Windows 7 with one for Macs on the way.
It allows for users to sync their Kindle Readers with their computers, allowing one to read books on larger monitors.
One can also download books from Amazon’s store, and even use the software without needing to purchase an actual Kindle.
With rivals Sony and Barnes & Noble trying to make a dent in the portable reader market, this move by Amazon is a direct slap in the face as they continue to forge new ground, pulling further away from the competition.
