Boston (DbTechNo) – Search engine Google is once again in the buying frame of mind, announcing their intent to purchase a display advertising technology startup company called Teracent.
Financial terms of the deal are not available but no matter what the company asked for as a buying price, it would probably not phase the big G.
This is another good purchase for Google, as the company continues to forge ahead, determined to dominate the internet when it comes to online advertising.
Teracent, offers Google a unique opportunity to target consumers on a graphic level based on what is around them, and offers many other cool features that Google will surely take advantage of.
From Google’s official blog: “Teracent’s technology can pick and choose from literally thousands of creative elements of a display ad in real-time — tweaking images, products, messages or colors. These elements can be optimized depending on factors like geographic location, language, the content of the website, the time of day or the past performance of different ads.”
Currently Yahoo leads the way when it comes to display advertising, with Google ranking a distant 6th.
