Boston (DbTechNo) – A massive beef recall is underway in various US states because it is believed that the meat is contaminated with salmonella bacteria.
Beef Packers Inc., is the name of the company behind this latest recall, of more than 22000lbs of ground beef product distributed to the states of Arizona and New Mexico.
The ground beef is being sold under multiple brand names, thus making this recall kinda tricky as numerous products are subject to it.
All effected product was produced back on Sept. 23 and has the lot number “EST. 31913.”
So far the tainted meat has been linked to 2 illnesses, and consumers are being urged to consult their grocery outlet if they believe they may have purchased some of the tainted meat.
Salmonella poisoning can result in diarrhea, vomiting and severe stomach cramping.
Those young, older, or with a compromised immune system can experience severe symptoms of salmonella if they consume tainted meat, and in some cases the condition can be fatal.
