Boston (DbTechNo) – This holiday season is in full swing, but it appears that Barnes & Noble may not have been totally prepared.
Their Nook ebook reder has been very popular amongst consumers but the company has failed to keep up with customer demand, meaning that those who pre-ordered their Nooks in time for Christmas may not receive them.
The Nook is the latest rival to the Amazon Kindle, and runs on the Android operating system.
Mary Ellen Keating, a spokeswoman for Barnes & Nobel stated that there will be some customers who will not receive their devices before Christmas.
“With our sincerest apologies, we will send you an e- mail notification on December 23rd with a $100 Barnes&Noble.com Online Gift Certificate,” say Barnes & Noble.
The Nook retails for $259, and a few weeks ago was declared sold out for the holidays.
