Google Smartphone Rumor Picking Up Steam

Boston (DbTechNo) – Rumors of a Google smartphone appear to be true as a name for the device has now surfaced.

The Nexus One is said to actually exist and to already be in its beta stage with Google employees having access to the next -gen phone.

Google already has a substantial foothold in the mobile phone market with their Android operating system, and now are on the verge of putting some heat on Apple who currently dominate the smartphone market.

On January 5, Google will be holding a media press event, at which time many feel that they will launch their Nexus One smartphone.

Taiwanese handset maker HTC is the designer of the smartphone, which many feel will be sold directly to consumers who will then shop around for their own plans.

Rumors of price and what the phone will look like are bountiful across the blogasphere but until Google actually confirm or deny rumors, nobody on the outside of Google really knows.
