Baidu Hacked Yesterday, Site Down For 4 Hours

The most popular internet search engine in China has been hacked by the Iranian Cyber Army
Boston (DbTechNo) – The most popular internet search engine in China has been hacked by the Iranian Cyber Army.

This group of skilled hackers are good at what they do, and are the same group that hacked Twitter last month.

“This morning, Baidu’s domain name registration in the United States was tampered with, leading to inaccessibility,” Baidu said in a statement.

Visitors to Baidu were greeted with the message: “This site has been hacked by Iranian Cyber Army” along with a picture of the flag of Iran.

Currently it is not known if the DNS was the sole method of tampering or if more in depth hacking on the actual site was performed.

The Baidu search engine, more popular in China than Google was down for more than 4 hours yesterday.
