Boston (DbTechNo) – The rivalry brewing between Google and Apple is no secret, and now if rumors are accurate the latter will be getting a leg up on the big G.
Apple maybe in talks with Microsoft to make Bing the default search engine for the iPhone, which would surely be a boost for Microsoft and a step back for Google.
Currently Google Search is the default option for the iPhone, but this trend could be coming to an end real soon if the rumors are indeed true.
Bing has failed to live up to analyst expectations since it was launched, but a move like this would lift its status immediately.
Google chief executive Eric Schmidt insists that there is no hard feelings between them and Apple, but nobody in the industry is buying it.
The move to drop Google from the iPhone would make smart business sense from Apple’s point of view, due to the ever increasing amount of smartphones running the Google Android operating system.
Why should Apple continue to support a rival in the field? A question that leads us to the conclusion that the rumor of an Apple Microsoft deal is near at hand.
