Shuttle Endeavour Docks Alongside Space Station

Boston (DbTechNo) – After a Monday morning launch, the space shuttle Endeavour has successfully docked alongside the International Space Station.

The docking was a tricky maneuver by commander George Zamka because of the loss of a key guidance sensor but was completed without a hitch.

The 2 vessels came together early today over the Atlantic, just west of Portugal.

“We couldn’t believe how spectacular and shiny the space station was,” said Endeavour’s commander, George Zamka.

The mission, lasting for 2 weeks in duration is to bring supplies and equipment to the ISS including a new bathroom and equipment for the observation deck.

The crew of Endeavour will remain onboard the ISS for up to a week to help with the installation of equipment.

Once the equipment is installed aboard the ISS, this will bring construction on the massive floating center to a completion.
