Boston (DbTechNo) – The 10 billionth song to be downloaded from the Apple iTunes store is by the late Johnny Cash.

It is hard to believe that so many song downloads have taken place since the iTunes store opened six years ago, but numbers do not lie.

Back in the day, the iTunes store only offered music for download, oh my have things changed.

Now people visiting the iTunes store have a choice of thousands of iPhone applications, music, videos, and television shows.

The song in question was downloaded at 9:43 p.m. GMT by an iPhone user, who will receive a $10,000 iTunes gift card from Apple.

“I Gotta Feeling,” a mega hit by the Black Eyed Peas was the most popular song to be downloaded over the last six years plus.
