Google Continue Investagating China Hackers

Google said on Tuesday that they are still trying to figure out what to do regarding whether or not to pull out of China altogether.

Pulling out of China is still a viable option for the company after a severe hack on the Gmail service was linked back to a Chinese IP address.

Two schools in china are being investigated as the originating location for the hack, both of which deny any involvement.

Another option for Google is to stop censoring search results in the country, a move that would not sit will with the Chinese government.

“The attack on our corporate infrastructure and the surveillance it uncovered — as well as attempts over the past year to limit free speech on the Web even further — led us to conclude that we are no longer willing to censor our search results in China and we are currently reviewing our options,” said Google Vice President and Deputy General Counsel Nicole Wong.
