Sony Working on Line of Handheld Electronics

It appears that Sony is planning to develop their own line of handheld devices to challenge Apple.

Apple currently lead the way when it comes to handheld computer devices, but Sony want to bridge the gap.

They have announced their intent to create an array of micro devices, including a smartphone, and a tablet-like device.

They also plan on making an iTunes like platform, complete with movies, games and television shows.

Sony are working with Ericsson to develop the smartphone, according to a source close to the company.

No dates for product release have been made public as of yet.
