For the first time in its young history Facebook has outranked Google in internet traffic for the week ending on Saturday.
Last week, the social networking web site pulled in 7.7% of the US internet market, compared to Google’s 7.03 percent.
The massive social networking site has outranked Google on certain days of the year before, but never over an entire week.
With more than 400 million users, it is easy to see how such a site could outrank Google, but it still sounds weird to hear that a web site other than Google was tops in web traffic.
Last month more than 127 million visitors visited Facebook and with more joining the popular site daily this number will surely increase over time.
