India Unveils Prototype 35 Dollar Tablet

The country of India is jumping into the mini computer arena, as they are shopping around specs for a 35 dollar device that will rival the iPad from Apple.

Not everybody in India has 500 bucks to spend on a tablet computer and now they won’t have too as the little Linux-based tablet appears just as good as its more expensive electronic peers.

Researchers with the Indian Institute of Technology and the Indian Institute of Science are behind the little tablet which can surf the web, show videos, perform word processing tasks and more.

Researchers are currently hunting for a manufacturer for their little device in the hopes of having it on the market next year.
