Lenovo has long been known as a company that makes computers but they will soon be known for making video game consoles as well.
This is a brave move by the company, jumping into the market that is already full of competitors, with Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft all vying for consumer loyalty.
Lenovo is the largest computer maker in China so you would think that they have a lot of clout when it comes to products that they offer, thus this decision to join the video game war is an interesting one.
Their new system, the eBox has already been developed and the company have set up a new company called Beijing eedoo Technology Ltd to promote it.
Not much is known about the device yet but we do know that it comes without a controler and can be hooked up to a high-definition television.
The Lenovo console “targets the entertainment needs of 120 million Chinese urban households” and will be released by the end of this year in China, the company said.
