Sony Unveils Qriocity Music Streaming Service

It is being reported that Sony are planning to launch a new cloud-based music and video streaming service to compete with Apple Inc.

Sony are known for their audio and gaming line of products but are jumping into the music business with Qriocity.

They made the announcement during the IFA consumer electronics conference in Berlin, one that is causing quite the chatter on blogs on the internet.

The company is banking on its massive fan base to get the new music streaming service off the ground but when it comes to competing with Apple few have been successful.

“We are excited to offer our customers high-quality, cloud-based entertainment experiences across many of Sony’s network-enabled devices,” said Fujio Nishida, head of Sony’s Networked Products and Services Group. “Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity will change the way we all enjoy our digital music.”

Sony hopes to have Qriocity off the ground by the end of the year.
