GOP Presidential field narrows by three
The field of GOP hopefuls has narrowed by three following the departure of Gov. Jon Huntsman, Gov. Rick Perry, and Rep. Michelle Bachman. The latter two candidates fought for the conservative vote and their departure is expected to benefit the candidacies of Rep.
Ron Paul, Sen. Rick Santorum, and Fmr. Speaker Newt Gingrich. The departure of Jon Huntsman is expected to benefit Mitt Romney as Huntsman was vying as the moderate candidate to the others.
Michelle Bachman suspended her campaign just prior to the South Carolina Primary as did Jon Huntsman. Gov. Perry suspended his campaign two days before the South Carolina Primary and endorsed Newt Gingrich.
