Thirty-seven year old Melodee Megia of Las Vegas, Nevada alleges that her former employer, the Cosmopolitan Hotel, fired her for saying, “bye bye” to a customer on the telephone instead of saying, “good-bye.”

Ms. Megia believes that the real reason she was fired was due to the fact she was eight-months pregnant at the time. Megia claims that her supervisors made derogatory remarks on several occasions about her pregnancy.

Ms. Megia has filed a prenancy discrimination suit against her former employer and has joined in a class-action suit being brought by other former employees of the Cosmopolitan seeking unpaid wages.
