Aimee Copeland Update

University of West Georgia student Aimee Copeland is in critical condition and next week she will undergo multiple amputations to free her body of a flesh-eating bacteria.

Copeland’s left leg was amputated two weeks ago and soon she will have her right foot and hands amputated to prevent the flesh-eating bacteria from entering her bloodstream.

Her parents say that she remains upbeat even after learning of what will come next.

Copeland’s doctors have said that amputation is necessary in order to preserve Aimee’s life.

Copeland’s father stated that instead of panic, Aimee replied, “Let’s do this”, and then inquired about prosthetic devices.
