The death toll in the Carnival Cruise ship disaster rose to 11. 20 are still missing.
After reports that Capt. Francesco Schettino was ordering food and drink after the crash reached the public, mistrust of him grew. He was placed under arrest and charged with man slaughter and abandoning the ship.
Schettino reportedly steered the ship way to close to the rocky shore, was too busy entertaining a female guest right after the crash to worry about safety measures, and was reportedly one of the first people to abandon the ship.
Luckily for the 4,200 passengers the ship was close to shore, and in shallow water. Much of the ship can be seen above water.
This is vastly different from a famous shipwreck 100 years ago. In 1912 the reckless actions of the crew sank The Titanic, but then over 1500 people died in the icy North Atlantic waters.

Death Toll At 11 After Carnival Cruise Ship Disaster
The captain should be held responsible, it is his duty to make sure everyone is safe, I have my captains license and whenever I have people on board there is no way I lose my edge and until the boat is either anchored or moored I stay in control
