Major Recall of 223,000 Peg Perego Strollers
Some eight years after a toddler was strangled while seated in his Peg Perego stroller, the company is recalling 223,000 strollers that have since been sold nationwide at major department stores due to safety concerns.
The United States Product Safety Commission reported in a story in the Wall Street Journal that the six-month old child suffocated when his head became trapped between the stroller’s seat and the food tray of the stroller.
A second incident involving a toddler whose head became trapped in this fashion occured three years later but the infant was rescued before a fatal accident occured.
According the company, to find out if their stroller is included in the recall, consumers should check the child tray of their Pliko P3 or Venezia stroller. Only strollers that have a child tray with one cup holder are part of this recall. Strollers with a bumper bar or a tray with two cup holders are not included with this recall
