The cinquecento (Italian for 500) has been the iconic car of Fiat of nearly six decades. The 2014 model 500L, now on sale in Canada, is looking to expand on that legacy. Fiat hopes to build on the sports car image of the 500 and cross into the sedan market.
The 500L is now a four door car with 42% more interior space at a total of 120 cubic feet.
The engine will still rev up nicely at 160 horsepower and has a six-speed transmission of which two gears are fuel saving. The 500L has a sticker price of $19,100 making it quite affordable. The company says that they offer a style that only Italian manufacturers can create along with the features that many consumers need for their expanded lifestyles.
Hence, the 500L has the additional space and accessibility. In short, consumers can enjoy the best of both worlds from style points to functionality.
In total, three models of the 500L are now available. The 500L pop is amenity rich with bi-halogen headlamps, stainless steel exhaust pipe, 16-in chrome accented wheel covers, black exterior mirrors, 5 inch interior touch screen display, and 60/40 split-fold rear seat backs.
