CDC Denies Zombie Apocalypse

In what sounds like the beginning of a horror movie, the American Center for Disease Control has sent a letter to media outlets that a zombie apocalypse is happening.

Conspiracies have been running rampant due to several recent stories about zombie-like behavior. In Florida, a man was arrested for chewing the face off of another man.

In New Jersey, a man eviscerated himself and threw the organs at police. In Georgia, flesh-eating bacteria led to limb amputations. In Maryland, a man was arrested after killing and eating his roommate.

The CDC has released an official statement: “CDC does not know of a virus or condition that would reanimate the dead (or one that would present zombie-like symptoms).” Some of the confusion may have come from the CDC’s own attempts to tap into the national attention currently surrounding zombies.

The Center has an official zombie blog that references zombies in popular culture to teach emergency preparations.
