According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, something that looks like lungs was found on a sidewalk in south LA.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Robert Dean tells the Los Angeles Times that a passerby phoned police describing what she thought were organs around 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the 13100 block of Avalon Boulevard, said Sgt. Dean.

He says he doesn’t know what they are but deputies turned them over to coroner’s officials.

Coroner’s Lt. Fred Corral said an exam was performed Tuesday morning and it was not clear what kind of animal the lungs came from. He did confirm, however, that the organs were lungs.

“They’re not of forensic value,” Corral said. “We’re going to dispose of them.”
