Thieves Make Off With Thousands In Strawberries

It seems that no strawberry is safe in Austria.

Authorities from the Styria province in the southeastern part of the country announced this week that thieves made off with thousands of dollars worth of strawberries in a late night weekend heist near Graz.

The police said that the berry bandits ripped down a large section of fence at an Austrian farm and made off with several rows of plants. The fruit had an estimated worth of $3,030. It was unclear about the motivation for the crime or about the fate of the strawberries.

This is considered one of the largest heists in this agricultural area.
