Al Capone’s Cadillac On Auction Block
Car collectors will be able to own a piece of history when gangster Al Capone’s 1928 Cadillac V8 Town Sedan is put on the auction block July 28.
Capone allegedly sold the car in the early 1930s before going to serve a prison sentence for tax evasion and the four-door green automobile has since had a checkered history on display at various museums and in travelling shows.
Capone originally had the Cadillac bulletproofed and painted green to resemble the same color used on Chicago police cars at the time and outfitted the car with a searchlight and a siren. The Caddy is expected to bring as much as $500,000.
