Sleep Swimming Idaho Woman Treated for Hypothermia
Most people sleep walk, but an unidentified 31-year old Idaho woman has been sleep swimming for the past few weeks, going for late night swims while in a deep state of sleep.
After her husband awoke and was unable to locate her anywhere in the house, he called police for help and a search party ultimately found the woman swimming in the nearby Snake River. Emergency crews rushed her to the hospital since she was suffering from dangerously low body temperature, or hypothermia, after prolonged exposure to the water.
She was also ordered by a judge to undergo psychological tests to determine if she was a danger to herself or others but was ultimately allowed to return home. Experts report that sleep swimming is a very rare form of sleep walking.
