Caped Crusader Charged With Obstruction
Last Saturday, police arrested Mark Wayne Williams, a 33-year-old Michigan for obstruction after he refused to leave a crime scene. Williams was dressed in a Batman costume.
“He wouldn’t clear the scene,” said Michigan State Police Sgt. Jeff Gorno, “and we had a canine out there and he kept ******** up the scent. He said he wanted to help us look for the driver…We didn’t want the dog to track Batman instead of the accident scene, and he was getting in the way of officers who had a job to do.”
This is William’s second arrest as Batman. Last year Williams resisted and obstructed an officer sent to a Petoskey city business to investigate reports of “Batman” walking on the roof. William’s sentence for that arrest required that he not wear any costume while on probation. Williams will face a judge about this recent incident on October 18th.
